Yeah accidents happen they're very good at their job this is not the first time an accident has happened like this especially in fort Lauderdale.

New River? I have navigated that many times without assistance or a bow thruster in a 60’ Motor Yacht. You can get in trouble real quick with all the sharp turns and crazy narrow waterways. And there are boats tied up almost every foot, it’s CRAZZIE.🤕🤪😱
Those tow companies know what they are doing and they do it well. The unknown variable is the skill or lack thereof of the folks on board. Will make a very interesting insurance claim.
acht was definitely put into gear ⚙️ that’s 💯 percent the captain and not Steel Towing. They handle much bigger yachts with ease. Could also be a mechanical failure.
o many professional captains on here. Good lord. It was a live station and somebody bumped the controls. Unfortunate but not the first time and probably not the last. Happens when a wingstation is left active and unattended and a deckhand walks by with a fender, happens when the bridge station is active and a stew bumps them while cleaning. That captain will never leave an active helm unattended ever again.
t was the tug boat’s fault for sure . Thats why big yachts get towed thru there due to the lack of maneuverability thru there
he yacht’s controls seem to have become engaged during towing which may have led to the incident. The towing company is worldclass at towing luxury superyachts along the New River. Decades of experience.
Crew pushed the throttle as it was getting towed and caused the yacht to accelerate fwd while being towed.
Steel Tow is the best there is ! they move Billons of $ hardware a year in and out of south Florida - that was a Capt Mistake -
I am a new boater, I thought when you are being towed - the engine is turned off..?? In any case I am sorry What happened to the beautiful yatch, I am sure the insurance company is not happy as well and I feel bad for the crew if it's their fault, these days no one can afford to loss a job.
Someone needs to buy the captain on the stern of the Steel tow boat a new pair of underwear 🤪
Why was the engine running on the boat if it was being towed? We have been towed a couple times and the engine was off; but we are only 34 ft
Looked to me that somebody hit the throttles on the yacht. Video doesn't look like it had anything to do with the tow.
Definitely look like someone maybe the captain accelerated because you can see that the ship was not on course the tow Boats were only assisting the tow the captain of the big vessel was in control of the steering
Yeah, that was a tough one to watch the tug. Augs did a great job. Apparently the Captain or somebody in there hit the throttle by accident. It was brutal.😂😂😂
Does anyone know. Was the yacht on its way TO the yard? Or was it leaving, work complete, with a new paint job?
Something is not right with these explanations. There should not be a wake like that with a yacht this size under tow. It should be creeping.
Those tow boat Capt. Have right of way in the river. They move quickly and professionally . I'm 30 years on the water and have never been quaked by any of them. Those boats are the best insurance policy for any yacht going inbound or outbound on the new river. They were not moving too fast. They are keeping the vessel under control in that river.
Julie Durda made him crash as she was on the shore in her bikini waving to the captain… Of course he swerved over to pick her up but then he realized it was just a cardboard cutout and not really Judy waving him over. Expensive mistake.
Not the tow boats fault , in fact they did a great job in this situation. Either tug could have easily tipped and both captains could have been injured or worse . They were on their toes and reacted quickly. I say well done captains
