No Backflow valves and the pumps are old and failing...
They have been projecting this tide, which is supposed to be colossal since last week. Are you all ever prepared? Does everybody have sandbags? Is the city handing out sandbags? They hand them out in Bay Harbor Islands. East Hollywood needs to demand sandbags because nothing else is going to help you all unless you move. There’s nothing you can do about mother nature. It’s just happening and everybody was warned about this from Al Gore. I’m sure he’s sitting around smoking a cigar saying I told you.
I remember the Miami Beach islands flooding like this in the 60s
Underground utilities. Stormwater dept. Jaime Castillo call him he will send out a crew
At 12 pm water has gone down. I can’t say how bad it was earlier, but this is proof that it’s working. Years ago, I recall being stuck in my house because of the flooding. Let’s give credit where credit is due and not change the narrative.
It sure looks like the water is draining into the drain, not coming up out of the drain. Either from the seawall there, or seeping up through the ground. Washington & Diplomat is currently dry.
