🌊 King Tide Alert!
Notice the beach looking a little different this morning? You’re not imagining it — today marks one of the year’s highest king tides, according to NOAA/NWS predictions.
King tides are the highest seasonal tides of the year, caused by the alignment of the sun, moon, and Earth’s gravitational pull. They can bring extra water further up the shoreline, temporary flooding in low-lying areas, and yes — a reshaped beach!
Our Public Works crews are out early monitoring conditions and keeping our shoreline safe and clean. 💪
A few reminders while king tides are in effect:
🚗 Avoid parking in low-lying areas near the water
🐾 Be cautious of standing water on roads and sidewalks
📸 It’s also a great time to see our beach’s natural resilience in action!
King tides will continue through October 1, so expect similar conditions over the next few days.
