🚨 CRUISE TERMINAL BUST: AN ARIZONA SURGEON ALLEGEDLY PACKED MUSHROOM CHOCOLATE BARS FOR HIS CRUISE. HE NEVER MADE IT TO THE GANGWAY. AND HE WASN’T THE ONLY ONE.
Tuesday, October 20. PortMiami, Terminal B.
Three passengers. Same ship. Same day. Three arrests.
All three were trying to board Norwegian Jewel for a 5-night adults-only charter to Key West and Nassau. The sailing was called the “Temptation” cruise.
Federal officers named their operation “Operation Temptation.”
You can’t make this up.
When officers searched his luggage, they allegedly found that a 38-year-old orthopedic surgeon had packed THC gummies, MDMA gummies, pills and capsules, and psychedelic mushroom chocolate bars. He now faces three felony charges, including trafficking. He has pleaded not guilty and asked for a jury trial. His attorney says the amounts are overstated because the products are mostly sugar and water.
His hospital back home says it is “taking the allegations seriously.”
The other two were women, ages 57 and 51, from Ohio and Illinois. Officers allegedly found THC gummies and vapes. Each now faces a felony possession charge.
There’s no sign the three knew each other. They weren’t working together. They just made the same bad bet at the same terminal on the same morning.
Here’s where it gets heated. THC is legal in Arizona. But “legal back home” means nothing at a cruise port, and Norwegian lists it as the #1 item you cannot bring onboard. All three could also be banned from sailing with the line in the future.
All three are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
So be honest. Would you still go under the knife with a surgeon who allegedly packed mushroom bars and THC gummies for his vacation? Or is what a doctor does on his time off none of our business?
