Anyone else have weird experiences docking a boat…

Anyone else have weird experiences docking a boat at blue moon?
Twice now I’ve pulled up there on weekday afternoons to an almost completely empty dock, and both times the manager/owner came storming out immediately with a very rude, confrontational attitude.
For context, this wasn’t some loud party boat situation. Just a normal 40 foot boat calmly coming in with 2-3 adults for lunch.
First time, it was the whole “Do you have a reservation?” routine, followed by basically telling us they couldn’t serve us despite the place and dock being empty.
Second time, we specifically made a reservation ahead of time to avoid any issues. Same thing again. Instead of a normal “Hey guys, we’d prefer boats pull a little further forward,” it immediately turned into attitude about how we were “blocking the view” while actively docking the boat.
The strange part is most boaters are totally accommodating if you just communicate respectfully. But the vibe both times was very much that boats, or maybe boats above a certain size, are viewed as an inconvenience, which is bizarre for a waterfront restaurant with a dock built for boat access in Fort Lauderdale, the yachting capital of the world.
Honestly, the waiters and regular staff have always been great. But ownership/management seems to play weird games. I’ve had other situations there not involving the boat where they refused to seat someone in our group, then suddenly had no issue giving us a table a few minutes later. Just a very odd power-trip attitude for no reason.
And to top it off, the food has never justified the attitude in my opinion. I’ve had meals there that tasted old, cold, or borderline inedible, including a steak that somehow came out like it had been boiled.
Personally, I don’t think boaters should support places that clearly seem annoyed by boaters showing up, whether by boat or by car. Houston’s built the same reputation years ago and gets mentioned here constantly for making patrons feel unwelcome under the guise of being “upscale.”
Luckily there are still plenty of waterfront spots around here that actually appreciate locals and boaters showing up.
Curious if other locals or boaters have had similar experiences there.

The boats are half the view🤦‍♀️ he's a tool
Blue moon has always been like a poor man trying to look wealthy. The food is subpar, the servers are pleasant but always act like they work for an abusive management. I no longer patronize this over rated truck stop.
Years ago my wife and I drove a rental car and had dinner. The food was so-so and one item was not prepared as requested. They argued with us about it. When we left the valet had an accident bringing our car. The police were summoned. They handcuffed the valet, who had no license, but released him when the manager argued it was private property. We sat on the steps for 2 hours. No apology from anyone. We will never go back.
es, if it's the same manager he's an asshole to all boaters. They always act like they don't need the business. One day they will be out of business.
. RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET, TALK TO JEREMY. HE RUNS THE DOCK THERE. HE ALWAYS HOOKS ME UP WITH A DOCK SPOT AND A TABLE.OF COURSE, I TAKE CARE OF HIM...
Block the view of what? The high rise in front ?
don’t know why I find that place so uninviting👀 Avid boater and love going out to eat-just don’t understand
That's really screwed up. As a non boat owner, one of the best parts of going to a waterfront restaurant is looking at the boats. I can see empty water any time.
Boats don’t really even block “the view”.. just sounds like they’re Aholes. Thanks for the warning!
No reason at all to patronize a business that is rude to its clientele. There are too many better options, especially out of season.
Most of the restaurants in Broward that have docks have become ‘anti-boating’. They say it blocks the view for other diners & they also don’t want to deal with having to monitor the area. Gone are the days they welcome you. We just take food & grill on our boats.
Sounds like they don’t need customer. Time to find a new place that appreciates good customers.
Wow, not cool, it's flat out wrong. Sir move up plz, tie it off. I meecha inside. Meet Maria on the way in? How hard is that?
Like Bermuda Triangle?
