#BREAKING: Isaias has strengthened to a Category 3, Major Hurricane in the Gulf with winds of 120 mph. 1st Major Hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Some weakening is expected at landfall tonight along the Florida Panhandle, but the NHC is still currently calling for a Category 2 landfall with hurricane-force gusts, 6 – 9 feet of storm surge, flooding, power outages and isolated tornadoes. Hurricane preps need to be completed this morning. If told to evacuate, please do so. I’ll be with you every step of the way with no hype, just the facts 24/7. – Matt

Prayers to everyone in its path. We are driving to Fort Walton Beach tomorrow. Hopefully there will be no major damage!
I need to travel by car to Sarasota from Alva tomorrow morning. Is it safe?
It's coming over tampa??😳😳😳
My in laws are supposed to fly from Atlanta to Miami at 8:20 in the morning. Would it be best to drive?
Welcome to the party
Thanks Matt. Was just looking at tv weather and they were talking so fast and bouncing around that I couldn’t even concentrate to what he was saying. So what did I do? Turned on my iPad to see if you were on or my favorite Chicago meteorologist whose name also begins with an M and is calm and precise.
You still have time to make it to the liquor store
Its a cat 3 coming onto land, yes maybe down to a cat 2 by the time the eye hits, but its technically already over land now!!!
Are we expecting a lot of bands throwing off to the east? I’m in Ft. Myers and wondering about heavy rains coming.
I've been through a hurricane with that many mile windsn Hopefully for the people in its path, the only thing you lose is power.
It would be interesting to know if we have reduced capacity to predict hurricanes (strength and prediction) with the current administration cuts in NOAA
There's a spot in the Gulf where these storms get a power boost. We've seen it numerous times in recent years. I hope everyone in the path is prepared. Don't underestimate the storm surge.
Eddie Vergona I have lived in Florida most of my years. We have had some Bad Destructive ones, and flooding in Desoto County and Charlotte County and other surrounding Counties. If you live inland, away from the coasts, you dont get effected near as much as the beach and all coastal areas. But prayers for all the people in the Florida Panhandle Areas. Please people dont take chances with your life or your families. We Only get One! So be smart and leave the area that they are predicting this hurricane to make landfall 🙏 🤲
