Can someone tell me is this just a big toad or a bufo? I’ve been trying to look on line but not sure, I’m thinking bufo and I have a small dog so want to make sure he’s safe. Thank you for any help 😊

Great pics ...it's a bufo look at the sheild shaped ridges on the top of his head , plus his big poison glands, also the native toads are usually smaller more colorful and cuter looking .
Yes, it’s a bufo or aka cane toad. Spray bottle w peppermint & eucalyptus essential oil plus vinegar and water. I go out every evening now. I am just seeing babies now.., The big ones I have killed off… I hope.
Definitely a bufo, definitely invasive and incredibly dangerous. Reach out to Toad Busters, they remove them per the FWC guidelines for you at night.
Bag him & freeze in a Tupperware
They kill untold amounts of animals yearly, they are invasive and FWC suggests bagging them and freezing them and then disposing of them. It is humane as they just fall asleep when they get cold and pass on
Kill it!
Salt around your house
so many more dangerous things outside. Lizards and bugs and plants.
Not safe. Cane toad.
Bag it, freeze it, dispose of it
only way to make sure your dog is safe is to stay outside with em.
Relocate.. it simple solution for all
Bufo. Kill it!!!
Bag him and put him in the trash. Take NO chances with your dog..
That's a Buffo or Cane toad....kill it before it kills someone's pets.
only way to tell is by licking its back and if your mouth gets real tingly and it burns it's a bufo frog. And if you just get warts the next day it's just a regular bullfrog . please try this and keep us updated
This is a Cane Toad we found in our rock bed first thing in the morning, it was huge, the size of a salad dish... you can see the pattern on the back of the head. The glands secrete this which neurotoxin. We took a shovel and put him in a double lined garbage bag, knotted the top... humanely put it to sleep by cooling then freezing overnight. Salt will not kill them it just burns their skin... freezing is best. Do not smash it, it will disperse the poison.
Don’t let your dog anywhere near them. One killed my dog. The toads are horrific
Poke him with a stick and see if white foam comes off his glands on his back , if so it’s poisonous to dogs.
Thats a bufo . They have the shield crest on their head
Just leave the guy alone. He doesn't deserved to be killed. He isn't bothering anyone. It's everyone's responsibility to keep an eye out on their pets when they are outside to make sure they are safe from coral snakes, poisonous spiders, deer ticks, bigger dogs, Bobcats, coyotes, eagles etc. You can't kill everything dangerous to pets and kids so just be a responsible pet owner and parent and walk gently among wildlife who share this earth with us. He shouldn't stay long he will keep moving. Just watch your pets and dogs. It is Florida after all. The most dangerous animal out there are the humans so watch out for them too. A little toad can't do anything compared to a bad person
