Choline is an essential nutrient that helps the liver process, package, and transport fat, and egg yolks are among the richest dietary sources. One large egg provides about 147 mg of choline. When choline intake is too low, liver fat metabolism can be impaired and fat may accumulate under certain conditions.
However, eating one egg yolk every day does not guarantee that you are meeting your individual choline needs, and avoiding eggs does not automatically lead to fatty liver.
Liver fat is influenced by many factors, including overall diet, calorie balance, metabolic health, alcohol intake, genetics, and other lifestyle factors.
