Research has explored lemon and honey drinks in relation to body fat and metabolic health. One study involving 50 healthy young adults examined a lemon-and-honey drink consumed during a four-day fast and found reductions in body weight, BMI, fat mass, and triglycerides.
Other research suggests that honey may have modest effects on some metabolic markers, including glucose, triglycerides, and liver enzymes, when included in a healthy diet. Research on fatty liver also points toward overall calorie intake, weight loss, and dietary pattern as important factors in reducing liver fat.
