Starting October 1, 2026, knowingly using fake pay stubs, forged bank statements, counterfeit identification or another person’s identity to obtain and take possession of a rental home in Florida can become a third-degree felony.
Under the new law, a conviction could carry up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000. Landlords may also terminate the rental agreement and give the tenant seven days to vacate, even if criminal proceedings have not started.
Florida is making it very clear, faking your way into an apartment could now cost you far more than the rent. 🏠⚖️
Do you think this punishment is fair or too harsh?

Need to bring that to NYC
Of course because you pay people enough to make the 3 1/2 times the rent to secure the apartment..🤣😂🤣😂
This started because they were asking people for three times the amount of in rent as far as their income making it completely impossible to find a place to rent even if you could afford to live there comfortably you still have to make three times the rent they need to start making that a law that you can't do that to people
Mamdani would never make that a law in NYC. He would actually encourage using fake paystubs to rent an apartment.
Don’t start that on my Birthday
Its a crime to be homless also. But at least if you get jailtime you will have a free place to stay with food.
That’s why they started asking for bank account info like Plaid. It shows all deposits and that’s how income is being verified.
Ohhh They’ll Have A Ball In NYC 😭😭😭
