Tallahassee police are investigating a mass shooting that wounded a dozen people, including six juveniles, near Florida A&M University’s Bragg Memorial Stadium during the school’s homecoming weekend. Officers were called to the area of Perry Street and Manatee Street on the evening of October 24, 2026, hours after the Rattlers fell 31-28 to Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the homecoming game. Police Chief Lawrence Revell said 11 of the victims suffered gunshot wounds, while one more person was hurt during the incident, and at least three of the injuries were described as serious.
Investigators said a preliminary review points to a physical fight breaking out in the crowded area before the gunfire started. The university pushed out an alert telling people to avoid the scene or shelter in place, then said afterward that its campus remained safe while expressing sympathy for everyone affected. No arrests had been announced in the hours following the shooting, and the department’s Violent Crimes Unit is still working to identify those responsible.
