WHAT IF WE REIMAGINED YOUNG CIRCLE? 🌴⛲️
We recently published an in-depth Substack article examining what the downtown retail strategy recommended to help revive downtown Hollywood. One idea we discussed was making Young Circle more connected to downtown — and we couldn’t agree more!
But why stop there? Why not take it one step further?
💡 Imagine rerouting US-1 to the eastern side of Young Circle, creating a redesigned two-way roadway that moves traffic around the park without forcing drivers to navigate the entire circle.
🌳 On the western side, imagine transforming that space into an expanded green corridor that flows seamlessly into Hollywood Boulevard, connecting ArtsPark with the heart of downtown.
⛲️ And while we’re reimagining the space, let’s remove that broken fountain and replace it with two beautiful, fully functioning fountains that give people a reason to stop, gather, and enjoy the surroundings.
More green space. Better pedestrian connections. Beautiful public spaces. A downtown that feels connected rather than divided by traffic.
This is a conceptual vision, not an approved city plan, and it would require serious traffic engineering and public input. But if the goal is to bring life back to downtown Hollywood, shouldn’t we be thinking bigger?
